Día Internacional de las Mujeres 2024

As we face an increasing array of global challenges, our journey towards the goals of Agenda 2030, including gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls, is at risk. The path to sustainable development, peace, and the eradication of poverty hinges on the inclusive, equitable, and significant involvement of women and girls at every societal level, coupled with the eradication of discrimination and violence against them.

In observance of International Women's Day on March 8th, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) emphasizes the urgent need for unified action to support migrant, displaced, and diaspora women and girls in their full diversity. This support includes committing to gender-sensitive financial strategies that propel sustainable development and vigorous climate initiatives, positioning feminist leaders at the heart of these efforts.

This International Women's Day serves as a pivotal moment to highlight how a migration-focused approach can contribute to sustainable development and stress the critical role of investing in women and girls. Women and girls from migrant, displaced, and diaspora communities are indispensable in harnessing the positive impacts of migration to fulfill the promises of Agenda 2030.
